Work Week 3

Constructing your Classroom Web Presence

These activities must be completed by March 9, 2009.  Plan to spend approximately 2-3 hours on this week's activities.

  • Comment on this week's Gospel Insights Presentation(s). Think about the message as well as the presentation of the message.  What have you learned from their presentation?  How will you apply their message in your life?  What suggestions can you offer the author for making the presentation more effective?  What ideas does their presentation give you for future presentations that you may make? (10 minutes)
  • Review the feedback that I provided on your plan and then build Classroom Web Presence using either a blog or a wiki platform.  It also perfectly permissable to include both.  Follow the guidelines given in the Classroom Web Presence Rubric. (2-2.5 hours)
    • If you choose to build a blog, use Edublogs and refer to Sue Waters' collection of help guides for Edublogs.
    • If you choose to build a wiki, I recommend pbwiki (since you already know how to use this wiki) or Google Sites.  This lik will provide help for pbwiki and this one will provide help for Google Sites.
    • I recommend you use Diigo and/or Google Reader to bookmark and annotate any resources that you find useful for creating your classroom webite.

  • Record a video critique of your Classroom Site on your personal video blog.  Include the following information.
    • A brief summary of your revised plan including the content area, grade level, and
    • An evaluation of your plan based on the criteria in the Classroom Web Presence Rubric.
    • A description of how you applied your technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) to design your website.
      • What technological features did you include in your website in order to help your students better understand the content?
      • What pedagogical purposes will the website serve?
    • Any additional ideas or questions that occurred to you while building your website.

I'm assuming this is due on March 9th (and even edited the page to say so). Is that correct?
